The Maltese Act XIII of 2007 relating to foundations is now in force. The attentive reader will recall from Private Foundations: A World Review 2008,1 that this Act inter alia sets out an extensive legal regime, which introduces a distinctive ‘niche’, wholly dedicated to foundations into the Maltese legal landscape. Legal Notice 95 has finally brought the Act in force with effect from the 1 April 2008.
