The nature of the powers of a protector & the impact of a conflict of interest

The Royal Court in Jersey has recently published a judgment in The matter of the V R Family Trust, which although concerning an application for costs, nevertheless gives a very interesting commentary on the nature of a protector's powers, and in particular looks at how a protector should exercise his powers when placed in a position of conflict of interest.
